2-Hour Delayed Opening For Basking Ridge Schools

The school district announced the delay on Tuesday morning.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — All Bernards Township Schools will be on a two-hour delayed opening schedule on Tuesday due to inclement weather, the district announced on Tuesday morning.

Ridge High will begin at 10:20 a.m., William Annin will begin at 9:30 a.m., and all elementary schools will begin at 11 a.m.

The buses are on a two-hour delay. There is no before care, and lunch will only be served at the high school. Students at all other schools are encouraged to bring snacks.

A winter weather advisory is issued for Somerset County until 10 a.m. on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service(NWS).

"Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow and sleet accumulations up to one inch and ice accumulations around a light glaze," according to the NWS.

Tuesday: Rain and snow, becoming all rain after 10 a.m. High near 40. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Tuesday Night: Cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 26. Northwest wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 40. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming west in the afternoon.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 26. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph after midnight.

Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 40.

Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 14.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 32.
