Band Director Dan Zugale, whose passion and leadership have shaped the Ridge Marching Band into one of New Jersey’s top programs, reflected on the journey and the community behind its success, saying, "When I started at Ridge in 2009, my goal was to build a band program consistently among the best in the state. The Ridge Marching Madness competition has been key to that growth, raising community awareness and inspiring future band members. We’re having another great season — on Oct. 4 in Piscataway, the Ridge Band earned first place and awards for Best Music and Best Effect. Hosting this event takes a small army of volunteers to ensure over 1,000 students and spectators have a great experience, and our parents do a tremendous job. A successful band program is truly a community effort, and it’s always fun to perform to a full house — so join us on October 25 to be part of the excitement!"
The host Ridge Marching Band will present the evening’s final performance at 7:05 p.m., featuring their 2025 show “Free as a Bird.” The awards ceremony will follow at 7:35 p.m., concluding an unforgettable evening of musical excellence.
