Basking Ridge Teen Is Missing, Last Seen in Utah

Greg and Debbie Mayer of Basking Ridge are spreading the word that their 17-year old son Greg is missing from a school in Utah, but may be trying to make his way home to New Jersey. 

The Mayers had enrolled Greg at Discovery Ranch in Mapleton, Utah, a special school for boys with behavioral and learning issues. But he went missing on Feb. 21, they said. There have been various sightings in Utah. As of Thursday night, the Bernards Township PBA was using Facebook to ask the public to share the news of the search. 

In an interview with NJ.com from Salt Lake City, the Mayers said they are walking the streets, distributing flyers, stopping in shelters and hospitals and trying to gain the attention of Utah media outlets.

The shelters he visited were "scary," Greg Mayer told NJ.com. "A kid from Basking Ridge is like a fish out of water here."
