Bedminster's Temple Found Safe, Will be Reunited With Family

Resident who was missing all summer was found by Port Authority police.

Bedminster's Roger Temple, who has been missing since the third week in June, was found safe Sunday night and will be reunited with family.

Temple, 44, "was spotted by Port Authority PD at a small park on the New York side of the George Washington Bridge at around 9:30 pm last night. Port Authority officers recognized him from a distributed flier," police Chief Pat Ussery  said Monday morning.

Temple was described as "exhausted" but "safe" and is currently hospitalized, according to the Missing Roger Temple Facebook page

"He has the support of many, and we want everyone to please understand that when someone as had a traumatic event as Roger has had... that it is OK and we support him and understand and want nothing more than healing and for him to get back to good health," the post read.

The former Sanofi Aventis employee had last been heard from via text on June 19. A $2,000 reward was offered in July by the family of the England native, whose last contact with loved ones was a text message that his cell phone battery was dying.

Friends and family received renewed hope last week when Temple was arrested on a shoplifting charge in Manhattan. However, police did not realize a manhunt was underway for the endangered man and released him.

The Bernardsville department had a limited role in Sunday night's discovery, the chief said.

"Family and friends were put in contact with Mr. Temple, and that was the end of this department’s involvement," Ussery said.

Bedminster Police Lt. Craig Meyer told NJ1015.com that Temple will be reunited with his family soon.
