Bernards, Far Hills Apply for Grant to Repave Parts of Douglas Road
Bernards Township and Far Hills officials will apply for a $280,000 state grant together.

Bernards Township and Far Hills officials will apply for a $280,000 state grant together in order to have the portion of Douglas Road leading off Schley Mountain Road repaved.
Why Together?
The boarder of Bernards Township and Far Hills is split evenly down the middle of this section of road, and until recently, the two municipalities had a longstanding agreement that Bernards would maintain the road.

Once that agreement was scrapped due to uneven costs, the Far Hills side of the road began to deteriorate at a more rapid pace than the Bernards side, according to Tap into Basking Ridge.
