Bernards Township Committee Members Endorse Nick Cuozzo for Somerset County Commissioner
Committeewoman Jennifer Asay, Committeeman David Tancredi, Deputy Mayor Andrew McNally, and Mayor Janice Fields Are Backing Bernards Resident Nick Cuozzo in November Race vs. Melonie Marano
There is a very important County Commissioner race on the ballot this November in Somerset County. With pressing issues such as county property tax increases, overspending, and overdevelopment on the ballot, we can all agree that it’s time for change on the Board of County Commissioners, and it’s time for a new voice in the room. This is why members of the Bernards Township Committee are united in our support for Bernards resident and community volunteer Nick Cuozzo for County Commissioner.
“Nick has a handle on the issues affecting Bernards Township, and Somerset County,” said Committeewoman Jennifer Asay. “He is someone who is in regular contact with the Township Committee, serves on our Planning Board and our Environmental Commission, and goes door to door to speak directly with residents about their concerns. This is the type of community involvement and leadership we need on the Board of County Commissioners.”

Committeeman David Tancredi added, “I serve on the Planning Board with Nick, where he has been a member for years and currently serves as a Vice Chair. He helped finalize our Master Plan update in 2023 and continues to work on important issues such as affordable housing, and consistency reviews. The Board of County Commissioners would benefit from his experience with land use, as a voice for effectively preserving open space, and standing up against overdevelopment.”
“Nick is a professional,” added Deputy Mayor McNally. “He works with policy and regulation, and is a business executive. This is the type of expertise we need on the Board of County Commissioners. What’s more, he’s someone who respects others and their opinions, even if he disagrees. He has the right temperament for the job.”

Mayor Janice Fields added, “The bottom line for me is, Nick is someone who cares. He cares about our town, he cares about his neighbors, he cares about our environment, and he cares about how peoples’ tax dollars are being spent. It’s time to bring his compassion and professionalism to Somerset County government.”
This November, please join us in voting for Nick Cuozzo for Somerset County Commissioner.
