Campaigns Have Personalities
How you campaign is a good indicator of how you will govern
We have seen during this election season that campaigns have their own distinct “personalities”. Some have positive messaging and focus on the actual issues important to voters, while others use dark, negative campaigning. It’s a choice every campaign has to make…whether to focus on the positive or engage in the negative as their tactic of choice.
The differences continue. Some campaigns focus on the local issues critical to residents, while others attempt to deflect from the local issues by, for example, attempting to “nationalize” what is a local election for Bernards Township Committee. Some campaigns believe in strong canvassing and connecting with voters via “grass roots efforts”, while others try to do it virtually through spending on social media.
Perhaps most tellingly, some campaigns stay focused on their message and its importance to the Bernards community, while others attempt to attack and obsess about their opponents, despite their proven history of dedication and commitment to our residents. It’s always great when you “live rent free” in our opponent’s heads. These are very clear and obvious distinctions and are readily recognizable. Of course, it’s a free country and everyone is entitled to campaign as they wish from a stylistic standpoint.

However, we know voters here in Bernards are tired of the negativity (they have told David & Bill in the course of their grass roots door-to-door canvassing). Voters also understand that how you campaign is likely a good indicator of how you will govern…Either by being positive and constructive and addressing the local issues that our residents truly care about and that our Township Committee faces, or engaging in negativity and not offering any substance. We are confident our voters will choose wisely and look out for what is best for all of us here in Bernards.
Vote for David Tancredi & A.W. “Bill” McMahon. Real leaders who really care. The choice is obvious of course.
