Nearly 1K Without Power, Downed Trees Reported In Basking Ridge
A wind advisory remains in effect for Basking Ridge until Monday night as wind gusts could be as high as 45 mph.
BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Close to 1,000 residents are without power in Basking Ridge as high winds blow through the area on Monday.
JCP&L is reporting 995 customers without power as of 2:30 p.m. A restoration time has been released. Bernards Township has opened its town hall for residents to use for charging and a warming center.
In total, close to 2,000 customers are without power in Somerset County, according to JCP&L.

North Maple Avenue is also closed between Birch Drive and Sunnybrook Road due to a tree and wires down on the roadway, said Bernards Township Police.
"Strong winds are expected to continue into this evening. Be aware of fallen trees & STAY AWAY FROM DOWN WIRES. Always assume all down wires are live," said police in an alert.
