Ridge Baseball Club Fall Ball Orange Rookie League

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The "Orange" RBC Rookie League Fall Ball Team arrived ready to play on Day 1 — and improved every single game both individually and as a well-oiled team machine.

They turned double plays, snagging line drives and pop flies routinely. The defense was exceptional and you could hear the boys yelling "2 Outs and the Play is to First" or "1 Out and the Play is to Home" or "Always Be Creeping!"

They knew what to do when the ball came to them, finishing every play, and knowing the next one is always "coming to me coach."

Nearly every player took a shot at pitching a few innings over the season in preparation for a possible Spring in the Coach Pitch division — and we saw tremendous growth with accuracy and speed as the found the strike zone again and again.

At the plate, the Orange were a force to be reckoned with. Hitting singles, doubles, triples, home runs, and even grand slams — the boys swung the bat to win!

Whether a teammate was pitching to them or a coach — the boys locked in and honed their technique. Proper hand placement, level swings, and even a switch hitter [or 2] are a few examples of how the boys went from a bucket of balls per at bat to one pitch wonders.

As for the fans — mostly composed of family and friends — the Orange had the best in the league.

Cheering and applauding for hard work on the mound or behind the plate, getting excited when the boys executed stellar defensive plays or crushed the ball into the outfield.

Lest we forget the siblings [both older and younger] that always showed up in support of their brothers.

All in all the boys had a ton of fun and made this season one to remember.

They will be the ones to watch this Spring and Summer!
