Ridge Track Shows Out At NJSIAA Meet Of Champions

Ridge High School had an impressive 10 boys competing, as well as six girls at the Meet of Champions last week.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — The Ridge Track team traveled down South to Pennsauken for the New Jersey Meet of Champions last Wednesday. Ridge had an impressive 10 boys competing, as well as six girls.

First on the track was the 4x800 relay. The girls’ team of Isabella Beudry, Rachel Biondo, Maia Zalmover, and Ryan Ireland medaled with a 5th overall finish, in a time of 9:24.35.

The boys squad of Jack Schon, Matias Valle, Owen James, and Nick Alapatt placed 18th in 8:11.20. In the field, Marcus Reilly placed 12th in pole vault, jumping 13-0. Jaimee Ryan placed 5th, medaling in her first Meet of Champions, jumping 5-6 in high jump.

Next, freshman Daphne Georgiades medaled with third in the 400 hurdles, running 61.15. Daphne also placed 9th in the Triple Jump (37-2.25) and jumped in the Long Jump as well.

Joseph Dachnowicz placed sixth in the 400 hurdles, earning his first individual medal with a new PR of 54.27.

In the boys' 3200, Brenden McMahon placed third in a time of 9:15.43. This earned Brenden his 10th meet of champions medal, and his 7th individual medal.

Last on the track was the boys' 4x400, and the team of Andrew Dachnowicz, Jared Rascio, Tristan Frank, and Joseph Dachnowicz ran 3:25.23.

Aidan Cairns also placed second in the 100 and second in the 400 in the wheelchair division.

Next up for Ridge are a few invitational meets, and then Nationals.
