Ridge Youth Flag Football Jets Wrap Up First Season

The team consisted of Kindergarteners and 1st Graders.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — With a team full of Kindergarteners and 1st Graders playing their first season of football together — and despite one of the smallest rosters in the division, The RYSI Jets K/1 became one of the most formidable teams on the gridiron.

They began the season as a ragtag gang of green - and through hard work and focus highlighted their season with a 6 touchdown performance on a beautiful Saturday morning at Mountain Park.

The defense held a vice-like grip on their opponents, with everyone grabbing flags and earning the nickname "Human Vacuum" at least once.

The boys learned a lot this season on their way to hopefully reuniting as a team in the future, to return and finish what they started -- becoming a true Gang Green!

Fighting through nicks and bumps and bruises, our guys got tough, with one even trying to wash off a scratch with soap and water to make space for a bigger and even tougher scratch next game!

The loudest and rowdiest group of players on the gridiron could be heard across Mountain Park yelling "J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets" [with their 2/3 counterparts] and it was rumored you could hear them all the way in Bernardsville on Saturday mornings.

Parents, Grandparents, Siblings and Friends - and especially the coaching staff could not be more proud of our crew.
