Six Students, One Mission: Making the Holiday Season Brighter for Children in Need
Local Songbird Youth members unite to spread joy with a holiday toy drive
On December 13th, members of the Songbird Youth organized a holiday toy drive to support families in need, purchasing and donating gifts as part of the organization's commitment to hands-on community service. Six student volunteers, accompanied by one adult advisor, used their own savings to buy toys and deliver them to the Basking Ridge’s Weichert Realtors Toy Drive later that evening.
The Weichert Realtors Toy Drive continues to support numerous local charities that serve disadvantaged children. Beneficiaries include the Ashley Lauren Foundation, which assists families affected by childhood cancer, the Salvation Army, the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots program, and other programs serving the community.
After selecting toys at HomeGoods, Songbird Youth volunteers transported their purchases to Weirchart Realtors, where the gifts were placed into collection bins for distribution ahead of the approaching holidays. The group focused on selecting items appropriate for children of different ages and games for whole families to enjoy, emphasizing thoughtful, inclusive giving.

For the members of Songbird Youth, the toy drive offered a way to express gratitude and spread kindness during the holiday season. Each gift was thoughtfully chosen, carefully considered for those who will receive them. Beyond the presents themselves, the effort reflected the group’s belief that even small acts of generosity can make a meaningful difference.
