Somerset County Government: Input Sought For Needs Assessment

SOMERVILLE, NJ -- The Somerset County Office on Aging and Disability Services (OoA&DS) is conducting a survey to identify the most necessary programs and services for people age 60 and over, persons living with disabilities and caregivers who reside in Somerset County.

“We are asking seniors, persons living with disabilities, and caregivers to complete this brief survey to help us ensure we are providing the right resources to the right people,” said County Commissioner Paul M. Drake, Human Services liaison. “It is critical that we obtain feedback from residents of all income levels, living situations and health status, so we can plan accordingly to deliver effective, equitable services.”

The Needs Assessment Survey will be available online and through county-operated senior wellness centers, service provider agencies, and the OoA&DS. To complete the survey, visit https://SoCoNJ.gov/Needs-Survey.

All information is confidential. If there is more than one eligible member in the household, each person should complete their own survey. Caregivers may complete the survey for a loved one who is unable to complete the form.

Data collected from this survey will guide County officials in prioritizing and planning for future programs and services.

The Office on Aging and Disability Services connects seniors, their caregivers, and adults with disabilities to the programs and services they need to remain independent and active in their community.

Examples of currently funded programs include information and assistance, paratransit services, home health services, Project Lifesaver, congregate nutrition programs, and home delivered meals. Every three years the OoA&DS develops an Area Plan that is submitted to the State Department of Human Services, Division of Aging Services for approval. The plan is updated in the interim years. The Area Plan identifies and incorporates needs and trends along with the programs and services that will be funded to address them.
