Two Residents Seek Votes in June Primary for Bernards Township Committee

Two Republican candidates have submitted a petition to place their names on the ballot for the June primary.

Election season is coming up and two residents are seeking votes for the Bernards Township Committee.

The deadline to submit a petition to be placed on the ballot came and went on Monday, March 30. Two residents are on the ballot for two posts on the Bernards Township Committee.

Republicans Mayor John Malay and committeewoman Carolyn Gaziano filed Monday for the June Primary. Malay has served on the Township committee since 2004. Gaziano is a committeewoman and has served on the Township committee since 2010 and served as Mayor in 2013, according to Bernards Township.

No Democratic candidates filed applications to be placed on the ballot.

Anyone looking to run as an Independent in the General Election has until the end of the Primary Election to submit his or her name.

The Primary is scheduled for Tuesday, June 2, with polls open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
