Vote Molinari for Bernards BOE: Experienced, Focused on Academics and Fiscal management

We are writing to recommend Keith Molinari for the Bernards Township Board of Education.

Keith is the ONLY candidate running with any substantial BOE experience. A board cannot run effectively if it has 1/3 complete newbies every year (yes, one other person has a few months as an appointee, but the point still stands). Keith has experience on almost every board committee, in particular recommending fiscally conservative cuts years ago — cuts that are only now being supported by others. Additionally, Keith was able to manage contentious board meetings well when he was president a couple of years ago.

Notably, Keith is also the only current candidate with insider perspective on ALL levels of the school system, since his children recently graduated and are now thriving in college. For the same reason, he also has no conflict of interest, and will not just support programs that his own kids happen to love.

A short list of Keith’s impact as a Board of Education member include: helping push through the addition of police officer security presence at every school, engaging the community in discussions and crafting policy about student cell phone usage, and, as Chair of the Facilities and Operations committee, helping revamp the process to get work orders down from almost 1000 to under 30.

Elsewhere in our community, Keith has been a lifelong volunteer in the community and a decorated army veteran. Over 20 years, he coached many local youth sports and volunteered through St. James Men of Charity, among other places. Professionally, he used his business skills to help patients gain access to specialty treatments, conveying the care he has for people in general.

As 20 year residents of Basking Ridge ourselves, we have watched the Board of Education vote to mostly say yes to a dilution of curriculum away from academics - and also to increased expenses, even though we have significantly fewer students. Keith is often the only board member encouraging discussion and tweaking improvements for common topics.
