FLOODING – “Belleville residents have long faced flooding challenges, particularly in areas where outdated stormwater infrastructure has been overwhelmed by increasingly severe weather. The $200,000 investment will help the township pursue localized mitigation strategies that reduce flooding risk and prevent long-term damage to roads, homes, and small businesses.”
OPEN SPACE – “The second $200,000 allocation will support Belleville’s work to preserve open space, improve public buildings, and remediate brownfields, which were contaminated or previously industrial sites that require cleanup before redevelopment. These investments are key to unlocking new opportunities for housing, recreation, and economic development while addressing environmental justice concerns in historically underserved neighborhoods.”
