Free Weekend Parking at Bloomfield Light Rail Station

NJ TRANSIT is now offering free parking on weekends for Newark Light Rail customers at Grove Street Station in Bloomfield. 

In February, NJ TRANSIT implemented free Saturday/Sunday parking at five Hudson-Bergen Light Rail stations as part of a one-year pilot program aimed at encouraging use of the light railsystem and increasing weekend ridership. The free parking at Grove Street began on March 16.

“Last month, we began offering free parking on Saturdays and Sundays at Hudson-Bergen Light Rail park/rides and wanted to extend the same offer to our Newark Light Rail customers,” NJ TRANSIT Executive Director James Weinstein said in a press release.  “This provides extra incentive for people to get out of their cars and onto Newark Light Rail, which offers connections to buses and trains at two major transit hubs.” 

Customers can park for free at Grove Street Station from 12:01 a.m. on Saturdays until the end of the service day on Sundays .
