Outstanding Young Woman
Vicky Flynn moved to Nutley in 2001 with her husband, Michael Naughton, and immediately became active in several community organizations. She served as a president of the Nutley Junior Women's Club and is a member of the Women's Initiative of Nutley, the League of Women Voters and the American Association of University of Women. She is active with the Nutley Library and has been serving as a trustee on its Board of Directors. Last April, she was elected vice president of the Nutley Board of Education.

She was a member of the Nutley Junior Women’s Club for a number of years, and served as its President for a term. Despite being one of the smallest Junior Women’s Clubs in the State, the Club was recognized as one of the top clubs in the State for excellence in community service and fundraising, and for its support of local community organizations.
She is a graduate with a degree in political science from Rutgers University where she was a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society and Phi Sigma Alpha ; the National Political Science Honor Society. In 1999, she received a law degree cum laud from Seton Hall University.
As a law student, Flynn was active in student organizations, serving as a Senator for the Student Bar Association, a member of the Interscholastic Moot Court Board and a member of the Women's Law Forum. She also a tutored first-year law students and a worked as a research assistant.
Flynn is a partner with the law firm of DeCotiis, FitzPatrick & Cole, LLP, specializing in civil litigation as well as advising clients on regulatory and governmental matters. She also is active in several legal associations including the Nutley Lawyers Club, the New Jersey Bar Association and New Jersey Women Lawyers. Flynn recently was appointed to serve as a member of the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on Women in the Courts.
She and her husband, Michael, are the proud parents of Grace, Kate and Shannon.
