Belleville Library Hosts Free Stress Management and Disaster Preparedness Workshop

Presentation will be held Thursday, Feb. 28.

 

New Jersey's Hope and Healing program has been offering crisis counseling and stress management/disaster preparedness talks since tropical storm Sandy.

They are bringing their presentation to Belleville this week.

On Thursday, Feb. 28, the group will host a free talk on stress and getting ready for disasters at the Belleville Library at 6 p.m. The 90 minute presentation will include the following topics • The emotional response to natural disasters

  • Predicting and preparing for emotional reactions
  • Getting through the emotional challenges of a disaster
  • Techniques for managing stress and anxiety

The program is offered by New Jersey Hope and Healing, a project sponsored by New Jersey Division of Mental Health and Addition Services- Disaster and Terrorism Branch, in partnership with the Mental Health Association in NJ.
