St. Peter's Holding a Special Mass Thursday

St. Peter’s Church in Belleville, 155 William St., will be holding a special Mass Thursday beginning at 7 pm to commemorate the “Year of Faith."

Catholics worldwide will celebrate the Year of Faith, which begins Oct. 11, the 50th anniversary of the start of the Second Vatican Council. The Year of Faith ends Nov. 24, 2013.

During Thursday’s Mass, St. Peter’s will also celebrate the 175th anniversary of the founding of the parish as well as the 100th anniversary of the laying of the church cornerstone.

St. Peter’s Parish was founded in 1837.
