Another Sunny Day At Ocean County Beaches, But Watch For Rips

OCEAN COUNTY, NJ - If you're planning on going to an Ocean County beach today, you've got a beautiful day ahead of you.

The National Weather Service is calling for sunny skies, with highs only in the mid 70s. There's no rain in sight, so there's no lightning threat. Winds will be from the northeast at 15 miles per hour.

The rip current risk for today is moderate. Be sure to check with your local beach patrol about any problem areas. And remember that rips can always occur, especially near jetties and other structures. There have already been several ocean deaths this summer. Don't be a statistic.

Waves today will still be rough, around 4 feet, with southeast swells of 4 to 5 feet. The ocean water temperature is 73 degrees.

The ultraviolet index is a 9, which the NWS considers very high, so bring the sunscreen.

Low tide at Barnegat Inlet arrived at 9:58 a.m. Hide tide will roll in at 4:16 p.m., followed by another low tide at 10:59 PM.
