Berkeley Chicken Eatery Closes Its Doors

BERKELEY, NJ — A popular Bayville eatery has closed its doors.

Chicken Holiday has served up its last fried meal and has now closed. The closure appears to have been sudden; a Google listing for the restaurant shows it as being open. However, newspapers cover the windows and a sign thanks residents for the memories. The phone number has been disconnected.

The restaurant had been a staple of Bayville for decades.

Throughout the years Chicken Holiday has made headlines, most recently in 2023 when the driver of a tractor trailer had a medical emergency and smashed into the storefront.

Chicken Holiday is located in Berkeley Plaza. It sits next door to Acme Draft House, another shuttered business. That storefront has sat empty since the bar's closure in 2020.
