Berkeley School Supply Drive Deadline Is On Friday, Mayor Says

Supplies can be donated in a number of places in town.

BERKELEY TOWNSHIP, NJ — Berkeley Township schools open next week and some children may not have enough school supplies without your help.

The deadline to donate for elementary school children is on Friday.

Unlike other school supply drives, this one benefits Berkeley Township school children 100 percent.

"Unfortunately, the need is great," the mayor said. "A good number of children go to school without basic school supplies."

Items needed include backpacks, notebooks, safety scissors, pens, pencils, erasers, color markers, glue, glue sticks, crayons and rulers.

You can drop off your donations at the township's Recreation Center on Route 9, the mayor's office at Town Hall on Pinewald Keswick Road, the Bayville Shop Rite, the Max Challenge in Bayville and the 23rd Avenue lifeguard stand in South Seaside Park.

"I thank you in advance for your generosity towards our Berkeley Township school children," Amato said.
