Berkeley's Next Summer Concert Canceled Ahead Of Poor Weather

Showers and thunderstorms are forecast for Wednesday, National Weather Service says

BERKELEY TOWNSHIP, NJ - If you were looking forward to the township's latest "Sounds of Summer" concert on Wednesday, it has been canceled because of expected bad weather, Mayor Carmen F. Amato Jr. said

"We regret this unfortunate circumstance," Mayor Carmen F. Amato Jr. said. "We hope to schedule an alternate date soon."

Sounds of the Street was slated to kick off the concert at 6 p.m., followed by Garden State Radio, which plays sounds of the 80s, 90s and 2000s.

The next township summer event is the annual beach party at White Sands Beach on 23rd Avenue in South Seaside Park. The event starts at 5:30 p.m.

The National Weather Service is calling for showers and some thunderstorms at least through Wednesday, along with the risk of flash flooding.
