Check Island Beach State Park's Status Before You Head Over
The popular state park has already closed and reopened on Saturday

ISLAND BEACH STATE PARK, NJ - It's a hot summer Saturday and crowds have been flocking to Island Beach State Park since it opened today.
Before you head over, be sure to check on whether the park is open or closed at any given time. It's already closed once and has since reopened. It's not unusual for the park to close on weekends or holidays, due to crowds. The park has two bathing beaches.
Closing the park temporarily due to crowding is not unusual during the summer months. You can check the park's Facebook page for updates.

"We're sorry for the inconvenience and hope to see you soon!" the park's Facebook page states. "We usually reopen within 1 to 3 hours, depending on incoming traffic and the number of vehicles leaving from the swim areas."
