Coastal Ocean County Beach Weather Report For June 11, 2017

Sunny skies, warmer temperatures, but the ocean water is still chilly.

It's going to be a pretty good beach day today, if you don't mind a little chilly water.

The National Weather Service is calling for sunny skies with highs in the low 80s. Winds will be from the southwest at 10 to 15 miles per hour.

There's a moderate risk of rip currents, so check with your local beach patrol first. Always swim within sight of a lifeguard and never swim alone or at night. The NWS suggests bringing a flotation device with you in the water.

The surf temperature is 62 degrees. Waves will be around three to four feet, with southwest swells of two feet.

The ultraviolet index is a 9, which the NWS considers very high. So bring the sunscreen. There is no lightning threat today.

High tide at Barnegat Inlet will roll in at 9:44 a.m. Low tide will arrive at 3:55 a.m., followed by another high tide at 9:51 p.m.
