The National Weather Service is calling for cloudy skies, with showers likely and a chance of thunderstorms for today. Not a great beach day.
Highs will be in the low 70s, with southwest winds around 10 miles per hour. The lightning threat is high.
Waves will be considerably higher than yesterday, at 4 to 5 feet, with southerly swells around 3 feet. The surf temperature is still a chilly 62 degrees. There's a low risk of rip currents, but rips are still possible, especially around jetties and other structures. The NWS suggests you always bring a flotation device with you in the water.

High tide at Barnegat Inlet was at 5:31 a.m. Low tide will arrive at 11:50 a.m, followed by another high tide at 6:01 p.m.
