Coastal Ocean County Beach Weather Report For June 9, 2017

Expect mostly sunny skies with highs in the mid-70s. The water temperature is still a chilly 59 degrees.

The National Weather Service is calling for mostly sunny skies today with temperatures in the mid-70s.

Winds will be from the southwest at five to ten miles per hour, with gusts up to 20 miles per hour. The surf temperature is still a chilly 59 degrees. Waves will be three to four feet, with easterly swells around three feet.

There's a moderate risk of rip currents. If you're brave enough to go into the water, the NWS suggests you bring a floatation device with you and check with local beach patrols first. Never swim alone or at night.

The ultraviolet index is an 8, which the National Weather Service considers very high. There is no lightning threat today.

High tide at Barnegat Inlet rolled in at 8:27 a.m. Low tide will arrive at 2:33 p.m., followed by another high tide at 8:41 p.m.
