Coastal Ocean County Beach Weather Report For Sept. 24, 2016

Cloudy this morning, sunny later this afternoon.

The National Weather Service is calling for mostly cloudy skies for much of the day, but the sun is on the way later this afternoon.

The high will only be around 70 degrees, with northeast winds around 15 miles per hour.

The surf will be choppy, with waves around four feet and southeast swells around three feet. The ocean water temperature is 75 degrees. The rip current risk is moderate, which means wind and wave conditions can support stronger or more frequent rip currents.

This is the last week you'll be able to find a guarded beach until next season. Swim only in guarded areas and discuss any surf zone hazards with the lifeguards. Always have a flotation device with you in the water.

There is no lightning threat today. The UV index is a 6, which the NWS considers high.

Low tide at Barnegat Inlet was at 8:57 am. High tide will roll in at 3:03 p.m., followed by another low tide at 9:57 p.m.
