Dog Believed Taken In Berkeley Township Found Dead On Garden State Parkway
A sad ending to a frenzied search for a much-loved dog.

Bailey, the little Bayville dog apparently stolen when he escaped from his yard on Memorial Day, was found dead on the Garden State Parkway Tuesday, according to a Facebook post by a friend of the dog owner.
"When we have the good fortune of being surrounded by animals, we understand that they never live long enough," the post said. "Sweet Bailey was sadly hit and killed on the Parkway yesterday. This post generated more commentary than any other. A community of animal lovers came together, offering support for Ashley and sympathy for her boss, who lost his dog. RIP Bailey. Run free over the Bridge."

Bailey, a curly-haired little pup, escaped from his yard on Memorial Day. But he never came home.
Someone possibly in their 20s took him and put him in a newer red pickup truck on Grand Central Parkway in Bayville.
