LAKEWOOD, NJ - Detectives from the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office and Lakewood police are investigating the "suspicious" death of a man found lying on the ground near Lake Shenandoah, a spokesman for the Prosecutor's Office said.

The body was discovered by a woman walking her dog by the lake about 2:15 p.m. When she saw the man was unresponsive, she called the Lakewood Police Department, said spokesman Al Della Fave.

It was not clear Wednesday night whether the body was that of a missing Lakewood teenager. Elibit Mena, 18, has been missing since Sunday evening, Lakewood Detective Lt. Gregory Staffordsmith has said. He was last heard from about 5 p.m. on Sunday when he went to Shenandoah Park to meet some friends, Staffordsmith said. His mother found Mena's car unoccupied in the parking lot at the park, located on South Clover Street, with no sign of her son, he said. Mena was last seen wearing a blue jacket, gray sweatpants and black sneakers, Staffordsmith said.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Detective Lynn Miller at 732-929-2027.
