Man Who Robbed South Toms River Gas Station At Gunpoint Still At Large, Police Say

Man fled into the woods off Dover Road after robbery.

South Toms River, NJ - A man dressed in black robbed the Delta gas station here on Thursday night at gunpoint and made off with $900, according to app.com.

The suspect pointed a gun at an employee as he robbed the 389 Dover Road gas station around 8:10 p.m., Sgt. William Kosh said.

The man did not fire the red or brown semiautomatic, he said.

The suspect was about 6 feet tall and wore a black sweatshirt, black ski mask, black pants, black shoes and blue gloves, Kosh said.

The suspect fled east on Dover Road with the money, into the woods, he said.

A search is underway. There is security camera that has not been released yet, Kosh said.
