Meet Zeus, The Pit Bull Who Helped Save His Family From Fire
Zeus and his paid a visit to Beachwood Fire Company members to thank them.
BEACHWOOD, NJ - Zeus the pit bull has a new title - honorary firefighter.
Members of the Beachwood Fire Department bestowed the honor on the pup on Monday, after he and owner Jeremy Brown stopped by the firehouse to thank Station 16 for putting out the fire at their Harpoon Street home very early Monday morning.
Although the house is uninhabitable, it could have been a lot worse, Brown told them.

Zeus woke up the family shortly before 2 a.m., before the smoke detectors had even sounded. Because of that, the fire was confined to one room and no one was injured, according to the fire department's Facebook page.
When members of the Beachwood and Pine Beach fire departments arrived, one room and its contents were already on fire in a room on the second floor of the house. The fire was extinguished within 20 minutes and no one was injured, the page states.
