National Coffee Day: Deals And Freebies On Thursday, Sept. 29

Find discounted, or in some cases, free cups of coffee at these locations.

If caffeine is something you need in the morning to get you going, then National Coffee Day should put an extra spring in your step.

Various national and local chains are offering free or discounted coffee this Thursday, Sept. 29. We've made a list of chains where you can get your cheap caffeine fix.

Your local coffee shop may have its own discounts, so be sure to check with them.

  • Dunkin' Donuts: Medium hot coffee will cost 66 cents in honor of the chain's 66th anniversary.
  • Wawa: The South and Central Jersey chain is offering a free cup of self-serve coffee (up to 24 ounces).
  • Cumberland Farms: Get a free farmhouse blend or bold coffee in any size with a coupon. Text FREECOFFEE to 64827 to receive a mobile coupon.
  • Dairy Queen: Get a small iced coffee for $1 or an ultimate frappe or fruit smoothie for $2 until Friday.
  • QuickChek: Download the free mobile app and get a free coffee.
  • Krispy Kreme: Get a free coffee and a glazed doughnut.

A few chains are using the day to help others.

  • Caribou Coffee: For every cup of Amy's Blend Coffee sold, the company will donate a cup of coffee to caregivers at support centers and hospitals throughout the country.
  • McDonald's: All McCafe drip coffee proceeds from participating South Jersey and southeastern Pennsylvania locations will be donated to Covenant House Pennsylvania and Covenant House New Jersey. The nonprofits serve homeless and runaway youth.
  • Starbucks: The national chain will give away free coffee trees to farmers in need for every cup of Mexico Chiapas coffee sold at participating locations.
