National Weather Service Issues Small Craft Advisory For Ocean County

This is not a good time to take out your small boat.

The National Weather Service has issued a small craft advisory in advance of steadily increasing winds. Winds may approach gale force at times on Friday.

Winds will be west northwest today at 15 to 25 knots, with gusts up to 30 knots. They will steadily increase during the afternoon, with the strongest expected late tonight into Friday.

Seas will run from three to five feet.

A small craft advisory means that winds are expected to produce hazardous wave conditions. Inexperience boaters should avoid navigating during the advisory period, which will run until noon on Saturday.
