Ocean Gate Is Planning A Birthday Bash And A Parade On July 4

Festivities will start with a parade, followed by a party on the beach.

OCEAN GATE, NJ - Ocean Gate residents will be celebrating more than the Fourth of July on Wednesday. They will be celebrating the borough's 100th anniversary with a parade.

This tiny town that borders the Toms River and Barnegat Bay was incorporated Feb. 28, 1918, from portions of Berkeley Township. Ocean Gate is planning a number of activities for the remainder of the year, including a boat parade on the river on July 7.

Registration for the parade starts at 8 a.m. on July 4 at Adrian Hall on Cape May Avenue. The parade will kick off at 10 a.m., Mayor Paul J. Kennedy said.
