Robert E. Condon, Former New York State Trooper, Korean War Veteran, Has Died

Services for Bayville and Jupiter, Florida resident will be held on Monday and Tuesday

Robert E. Condon of Bayville, New Jersey and Jupiter, Florida, died on February 14, 2017.

He was a district manager for NYNEX, retiring after 30 years of service. He was also part of the Local 137 Operating Engineers, Communications Workers of America and Teamster 456.

Prior to his employment with NYNEX, Telephone Company, he was a New York State trooper. He served in naval aviation during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, the Navy League of the United States, Jersey Shore Council, The American Legion Post 129 in Toms River, and the Sonata Bay Homeowners Association.

Born in West Haven, Connecticut, he lived in Suffern, New York prior to moving to Bayville, New Jersey in 1993 and has been a resident of Jupiter, Florida since 2003.

He is predeceased by his wife, Virginia Bryde Condon in 2001, two brothers, Eugene G. and Alan A. Condon and sister, Marjorie C. Grant.

Surviving is his wife, Mildred-Alice, his daughter, Beverly Simon, his son, Robert A. and family, stepson, Steven P. Volovar and his family.

Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 20 at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River. A Mass to celebrate Bob's life will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Barnabas R.C, Church, 33 Woodland Rd. Bayville, NJ. Military honors and his burial will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Military Cemetery, 50 Province Line Rd, Wrightstown, NJ.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517.
