Rough Seas Today, Along With A Moderate Rip Current Risk

Waves will be from 4 to 5 feet today on Ocean County beaches.

OCEAN COUNTY, NJ - The National Weather Service is calling for pretty choppy seas today, with waves of 4 to 5 feet and a moderate risk of rip currents.

If you are planning on swimming, be sure to check with your local beach patrol about any problem areas. The Beach Haven Beach Patrol has already enforced a knee-deep restriction on swimmers. Never ever swim alone or at night and never swim on an unguarded beach. The NWS suggest you bring a flotation device with you. There have been a number of ocean drownings this summer. You don't want to add your name to the list.

The ocean water temperature is 79 degrees, about the warmest its been all summer. Swells will be from the east at 3 feet.
