Seaside Heights Man Indicted For Roommate's 2018 Murder
Matthew Joseph DeMartin accused of killing victim, who died of blunt force trauma, authorities say

SEASIDE HEIGHTS, NJ - An Ocean County grand jury has indicted a borough man for the first-degree murder of his roommate at the motel room they shared on Lincoln Avenue, a spokesman for the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said.
Matthew Joseph DeMartin, 37, is accused of murdering Sharon S. Falcetano, 59, on Feb. 22 at the Glendale Motel on 26 Lincoln Avenue.
Police and emergency medical services responded to a 911 call at the motel at 11:19 a.m. They found Falcetano unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:43 a.m, said spokesman Al Della Fave.

Officers immediately secured the scene and contacted the Prosecutor's Office's Major Crimes Unit and the Ocean County Sheriff's Department CIU.
An autopsy conducted by the Ocean County Medical Examiner determined that the Falcetano suffered multiple blunt force trauma injuries to her head and body. The death was ruled a homicide, Della Fave said.

The investigation was conducted by detectives from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, the Seaside Heights Police Department and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department Crime Scene Investigations Unit.
The case is being prosecuted Chief of Special Litigation Unit Anthony Pierro. DeMartin remains lodged in the Ocean County Jail.
