Showers And Thunderstorms Possible At Ocean County Beaches Today

Rip current risk is still moderate, wave heights increase to 4 feet, National Weather Service says

OCEAN COUNTY, NJ - It's not looking like such a great beach day today.

The National Weather Service is calling for mostly cloudy skies with isolated showers and thunderstorms. The highs today will only reach the lower 80s. Winds will be from the southwest at 10 to 15 miles per hour. The sun will be out on Monday, before storms move in again on Tuesday.

The rip current risk is still moderate. If you still plan to swim despite the weather, only swim on a guarded beach and never swim alone or at night. The NWS suggests you bring a flotation device with you before heading in the water. There's been too many drowning and multiple water rescues already this season. Don't be a statistic.
