Sunny Skies For Ocean Beaches, But Rip Current Risk Continues

OCEAN COUNTY, NJ - The National Weather Service is calling for mostly sunny skies today with a moderate risk of rip currents at Ocean County beaches.

Be sure to check with your local beach patrols about any problem areas. Rip currents can occur any time, any place, especially near jetties, groins and other structures. Never, ever swim on an unguarded beach and never swim alone or at night.

Waves today will be about 2 feet, with light swells. The ocean water temperature is 77 degrees, although that may vary from beach to beach. The National Weather Service suggests you always bring a flotation device with you in the water.

Skies will be partly sunny today, becoming sunnier as the day goes on. Highs today will be in the mid 80s. There is no lightning threat. Winds will be from the west at 10 miles per hour..

High tide at Barnegat Inlet arrived at 6:21 a.m. Low tide will roll in at 12:31 p.m, followed by another high tide at 6:44 p.m.
