Trick Or Treat Night In Berkeley Is Oct. 31
Township Council members informally decide to hold the event on the same night as the Toms River Halloween parade.

If you live in Berkeley Township and are sending your children out to trick or treat this year, make sure you do it on Oct. 31.
Berkeley Township officials informally decided to have trick or treat on Oct. 31, the same night the same day the longtime popular Toms River Halloween parade is held, at the Sept. 27 council meeting.

Most of the other towns in or around Toms River have kept trick-or-treat night on Oct. 30. For years most of the river towns, including Berkeley, opted for the night before Halloween for the candy gathering, so more could attend the parade, the largest in the state.
But the Toms River Fire Company - which hosts the parade - experimented with differing dates over the past few years, which lead to some confusion.

But last year council members decided to break with tradition and hold it on Oct. 31.
