Winter Comes To Jersey Shore: Snow On The Way For Later This Week

More snow is predicted to fall in coastal areas, National Weather Service says.

It may be time to break out your snow shovels and snow blowers.

New Jersey residents in the southern part of the state can expect snow and colder temperatures beginning on Thursday night. The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather alert for much of the state, but those in the southern half of the time are expected to get a little more snow, the NWS says.

Clouds move in on Thursday, with a high of 35 degrees. Thursday night snow will begin to fall, mostly after 1 a.m. Temperatures will begin to drop and roughly one to two inches is expected, with slightly more towards the coast.

Expect a low of 24 degrees on Thursday night, with winds of 6 to 9 miles per hour.

Snow will continue on Friday, mostly before 1 p.m. Expect a high of 35 degrees on Friday with north winds from 8 to 10 miles per hour. Snow of up to an inch is forecast on Friday.

There's a slight chance of snow on Friday night. Mostly cloudy skies are expected with a low around 20. Expect mostly cloudy skies on Saturday with a high of 31 degrees.
