Red Ribbon Week at Bedminster School

Activities promoting drug-free and healthy lifestyle planned all week.

In continued efforts to convince students to live healthy and drug-free lives, Bedminster Township School will be holding a week of activities in honor of Red Ribbon Week.

"Red Ribbon Week provides our community with an opportunity to renew our commitment to a healthy and drug-free lifestyle," said Gina Infante, kindergarten through fourth grade school counselor. "It allows Bedminster the opportunity to show our dedication to the education and drug prevention efforts in our schools and communities."

Infante said the funding for the program comes from the Somerset Hills Municipal Alliance and Youth Services Commission.

The week will kick off, Infante said, with a World of Rope Jumping assembly, sponsored by the Bedminster Township PTO. The assembly, she said, emphasizes character building traits like teamwork, perseverance, making positive choices and respect.

"We tie these character traits into our Red Ribbon Week because making positive choices and keeping our bodies fit are two important aspects of our personal commitments to live drug free lives with the ultimate goal being the creation of a drug free America," she said.
