Boston Explosions Won't Affect Miles for Matheny Plans
Matheny Medical and Educational Center issues statement assuring Sunday event is still on.

This Sunday's scheduled full-day Miles for Matheny annual fundraiser will go on as planned in the wake of the Boston explosions, with the president of the Matheny Medical and Educational Center also offering assurances that the event planners are working closely with Peapack-Gladstone police.
“The 16th annual Miles For Matheny, being held this Sunday at Liberty Park in Peapack, we feel, will transmit a strong message to those accountable that we will not allow these types of actions to alter our way of life," said a statement issued on Tuesday by Steven Proctor, president of the medical and educational facility for developmentally disabled children and adults.
"Matheny’s patients, students and their families look forward to Miles with great anticipation, and we are working very closely with the Peapack-Gladstone police department and other law enforcement agencies to make sure we have a safe and inspiring day," the statement said.

"Everyone at the Matheny Medical and Educational Center is saddened and stunned by the news from Boston. Our thoughts, of course, are with the families whose loved ones were injured or killed by the horrific acts that took place at the Boston Marathon."
Registration for Miles for Matheny events will begin at 8:30 a.m. Shuttle buses will begin at 8 a.m. from the Pfizer building on Route 206 and later will run from noon to 3 p.m., according to Matheny.
