Patch: What attracted you to the line of work you’re in, and how did you get started?
Melillo: As many of you know, there has been a lot of debate around the possibility of a redevelopment initiative for downtown Bernardsville. As Mayor, I am committed to maintaining Bernardsville’s small-town feel as we look to enhance the community’s unique charm for years to come. This is an important issue to address in the upcoming election and this is only one of the reasons I have decided to run for office. Based on my experience and proven local leadership, I believe that we can work together to achieve common goals and facilitate outcomes that will benefit our residents, local businesses and the community as a whole.

Patch: If you had to sum up your mayoral mission to a stranger in five words, what would those words be?
