Bedminster A&P Now Closed After 46 Years

Supermarket in Somerset Hills shopping center empty of customers after clearing out merchandise with discounts.

If you've been putting off your chance to drop by at the old A&P in Bedminster to pick up some bargains or say goodbye to longtime employees, you're out of luck.

As promised, the supermarket off Washington Valley Road and Route 202/206, which once was alone in serving a large part of the Somerset Hills, was officially closed by Friday, March 1.

A sign posted on two of the windows of the empty store thanked customers, with a notice that said, "It has been our privilege to serve this community for the past 46 years."
