Medicare and Medications Made Affordable, Presentation In Somerset County

Are you having trouble affording your medications? Do you know if you qualify for assistance?

Somerset County Freeholder Brian D. Levine invites older adults age 60 and above, and people with disabilities age 18 and above, to attend a presentation about Medicare and cost savings options that will be held Monday, Aug. 24, at the Warrenbrook Senior Center, located on the Warrenbrook Golf Course at 500 Warrenville Road.

Learn About Medicare

At 10:30 a.m., Eldercare Educator Laurie Roome will review information about Medicare plans and a Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act grant that helps low-income seniors and people with disabilities take advantage of financial assistance programs, including Medicare Savings Programs and Part D Extra Help.

Program Application Assistance

Beginning at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 27, counselors will be available to answer questions and to assist with the filling out of program applications. Advance registration is required by contacting the Warrenbrook Senior Center at (908) 753-9440.

This presentation will benefit anyone who wants to learn more about Medicare, make a change to their own plan or help a loved one make decisions about Medicare.

The Somerset County Office on Aging and Disability Services operates seven multipurpose facilities that offer a variety of educational, recreational and entertaining activities for active older adults, including wellness programs and health screenings. The centers are accessible to individuals with disabilities.

Somerset County senior centers offer a wide range of experiences designed for lifelong enrichment in a social and uplifting atmosphere, intended to positively impact overall health. Many of these programs are funded, in part, through the Older Americans Act.
