One Person Files for Vacant BOE Seat

The seat is for a year-long term on the Bedminster Board of Education.

Only one resident has filed to fill a vacant seat on the Bedminster Township Board of Education, with an interview scheduled for during Monday's meeting.

According to an article in the Bernardsville News, Andrew Isaacs, of Steeple Chase Court, was the only person to apply for the seat by the Oct. 15 deadline.

Isaacs, the article said, has been active in the community, and recently ran for the township committee as a Democrat.

The vacancy was created following the resignation of board of education member Jason Anagnostis, who resigned in August.

The board of education is planning to hold interviews of the candidate at Monday's meeting, to be held at the Bedminster Township School at 7:30 p.m.

The term will last through December 2013.

School Business Administrator Philip Acosta said the vacancy is being filled in this way because Anagnostis, who resigned from the board for personal reasons, filed his resignation to late to get the position on the ballot for the November elections.
