Pluckemin Church Opens Doors as Cooling Center Amid Extreme Heat

Cold Water and Free Ice Pops! Come Chill Out With Us!

With temperatures soaring near 100 degrees, Pluckemin Presbyterian Church is opening its facility as a community cooling center on Wednesday, June 25, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

All are welcome to come inside and cool off in the church’s air-conditioned Fellowship Hall. Cold water and free ice pops will be available throughout the day.

“Offering a safe, comfortable space during this heat wave is one small way we can live out our mission to be a hub of caring in the community,” said Paul Gucker, a church Elder. “We hope this simple act of hospitality brings some relief and reminds people they are not alone.”
